advice on s/c selection
Heres my build plan: 347 stroker, 185AFR heads, and trickflow intake(1,500-6,000). The plan was for a novi-2000 and to make around 450-500HP at around8-12 PSI. Anyhoo I have been contemplating going with a different unit lately. I have read that the novi's are SQ units... and I deffinetely want to be heard.
So I'm looking for a kit that will support 400-550WHP, in the 8-14PSI range, I don't want a self-contained oiling system(powerdyne), and I want a good healthy whine from the system. Aftercooler or no cooler is not a concern. I have a lot of buddies that have run vortechs and am leaning toward that but always forget the alpha-trim codes and vortechs site sucks. Emmissions are also of no concern.

I think you are being WAY over conservative with your power figures. I have a 327 stroker, TFS TW heads, Performer RPM and a Novi 2000. Through the AOD, I make >600rwhp @ 13psi. And my .542 lift cam isn't exactly aggressive. My friend's stock shortblock, F cam, TFS TW, TFS Track Heat, Novi 2000 combo made 466rwhp through a C4 @ 10psi.
Your AFR headed 347 with any blower that can make 10psi is going to put you over 500rwhp. Now my Novi isn't as loud as an S-trim, but an S-trim is annoying to me. And there isn't anyone I pull up next to that doesn't know I'm supercharged.
