Default Boost

Can I create a kit from a mustang or fab a turbo set up, for my 01 grand marquis? Is that possible, I'm looking for a daily driver set up and lookin to get a respectable increase in power hp and tq. Not lookin for a 1/4 mile car nothin insane, just want more power.
anyone have any info on what this will cost or were to start.

I found direct bolt on kits but they want $4300 for a 6psi kit
thanks

4300 isnt that bad of a deal if its bolt in. if you get the turbo cheap and you can weld and tube bend, then the rest is pretty cheap. the intercooler, turbo, waste gate and bov are the only expensive pieces. the rest is just tubing. youll need to make headers, exhaust, tubing into the air side of the turbo, tuning going to the intercooler and tubing from there to the engine

Wait you found a bolt in kit for a Grand Marquios? A turbo kit? If the kit says that it is 6 lbs. it sounds more like a S/C kit instead. Plus for that price, it fits a S/C setup more than a turbo. I may be wrong on this so don't start flaming me here just think that sounded a little wierd. Usually with turbo kits you are able to adjust the boost with a boost controller. But then again maybe the wastegate is set for 6 lbs. Anyway, you do realize that putting any kind of boost is gonna make your car run a lot hotter and put a lot of stress on the motor. If it is the V8 Grand Marquis you probably have the Ford 4.6 right? Why don't you do H/C/I and then put a little spray on there for the fun times? Your car will be a little more reliable and it'll probably cost you a lot less.
