Default Custom Muffler Vs. Flowmaster

I am looking to fab up some kind of straight through SLP style muffler and was wondering how much louder it be vs. what I have now

Current Exhaust Combo:

BBK 1 5/8" Lontubes
BBK O/R H-Pipe
Flowmaster 2 1/2" 40 series mufflers

Vs.

8" long/ 5" round Straight through can mufflers (no glass packing or anything)
BBK 1 5/8" Longtubes
BBK O/R H-Pipe

How much louder will these custom mufflers be than the flowmasters?

I really don't have an extra 100-175$ to spend on mufflers, so i'm going with an alternative to cheap custom muffler. With there be any raspyness with the straight tru design. How much louder are we looking?

i've heard similar setups, you will probably get a really raspy sound with a straight through design with any off road pipe. we're talkin quite a bit louder, especially with your setup. IMO save up and get magnaflow, the cheapest decent exhaust u can buy, or maybe a pypes violator.

as with all of my tech posts, i will post the n0ob disclaimer: more knowledgeable people, step in to correct me, as im a n0ob.

don't do it yourself. just buy mufflers or a catback designed for your car. it really isn't worth the headache. at least with a real catback or muffler, you know what to expect sound wise. you're playing pot luck doing it yourself.

I'm thinking oof just buying the SLP Loudmouth mufflers and welding them in.

Has anybody heard a 5.0 with an SLP Loudmouth Catback? Does it sound similiar a 4.6 with one on?

I installed a set of SLP Loudmouth mufflers and they sound amazing.
It is louder with tailpipes than my flowmaster 40's w/dumps!
Sounds a little different than the cobra's down low, but right like em up high.
