i have heard that Cams can change the way your mustang sounds, if so could someone tell me what kind or model or whatever i need, and does it change the sound to make it louder if so i want one, thanks

 

a cam would also change your car's RPM power band, it would affect your idle and stress your valvetrain parts a little more...unless you upgrade those parts too....

 

If you are mildly modded go with an e-303 or a b-303 cam, they will make it sound good. If you are mid to heavily modded go with an f-303 or x-303. Also keep in mind the valve clearance with some of the harsher cams you may need to have grooves machined in your pistons to clear the valves. If you are only trying to make your car louder than there are easier, better ways to change the sound of your motor. The change in your exhaust note is only a side effect of the cam change. Changing the cam along with other mods needed for the change, intake, headers etc. can be a great way to improve performance, and yes change your exhaust note, if thats what your looking to do.
