Default cant decide on wether to supercharge or not

lately i've been tossing around the idea of boosting my 2000GT. If i had the money just laying around it'd be a no brainer, but i'm really pressed for cash, and my car is basically bone stock except for exhaust and midpipe. I've been wanting to put various mods into it like gears, T/b plenum, intake, and possibly a tuner. I've been thinking though, should i just take that money and but a supercharger??? I'd only be able to afford one within the $2500-$3000 range. How much boost can a stock 2V with stock internals safely handle? I've heard around 13psi, but is $3000 going to get me a S/C capable of producing 13psi??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and if you have any suggestions on where to find a good S/C kit that fits what i'm looking for, please post the aite address.

13 psi is pushing it, id prolly stay around 9 psi.... If you are pressed for cash i probably wouldnt supercharge it. it would be real fun, but if you are serious about going fast, ud need a decent amount of suspension mods, lca's, drag springs,struts...etc. and some good drag radials to get the most out of your s/c. I hear the most a block can handle is around 400rwhp?? but u might wanna consult someone else on that number. id go with suspension and tires and then save up for a s/c...because if you end up supercharging you wont have bought mods you can no longer use. and dont forget that u cant just buy a 3500 dollars s/c. ull prolly need a better fuel pump, injectors, and a good tune which is quite a bit of money to go with it, pending which s/c kit u go with.

i'm at 10psi now. you can buy a used vortech kit for $2000 or less if you're on a budget. they're tanks and last forever.
