MAF issues help
Having probs with engine throwing codes after vortech install, saying it is running lean, so havent done a pull yet. I got the 90mm lighting MAF, but mechanic says that is the prob as there is no IAC or iat or soemthing like that or it is external or soemthing. So he tells me i need an 03-04 cobra one. Find one in town at an svt dealer and after kicking 371 including core charge [:@] it gets installed. Problem, the ones ford say are for the 03-04 cobra, are the same as the lighting (eventhough they arent) [:@][:@]. so i need a 6 pin instead of a 4. I thought i could use a lighting maf? is there something going on or does my mech just not know what he is doing?
also, if push comes to shove, can i use the stock maf?

42s, my mech says that the pins on teh meter dont match, 4 vs 6, i assume that is just where you plug it in, he says it wont fit.

what injectors do you have? is it calibrated for your injectors?

I ran the Lightning 90mm MAF with the Vortech on the Mrs' Stang.

Update: My issue was ford having the same part #s in the parts computer for the cobra and lightning meter, at least here in town

anyway, so i got a cobra meter (what i thought was) and it had a lightning maf inside, so lightning has 4 pin and cobra/gt has 6 pin due to the fact that the lightning has a separate iat sensor. So i can use the lightning for now, but it throws a code of a missing iat, makes sense. So i go to a different SVT dealer here in town and pick up another cobra maf. Of course i dont know the whole difference at this time and dangit, same thing, lightning maf in a cobra box, WTF? [:@] so i have to take one back ( i know they are going to give me crap and not beleive me about wrong part in wrong box, i did call teh guy to tell him). I still need a cobra maf to get the iat, i really dont want to splice wires to an external iat, i aint that handy.
anyway, did a few pulls on teh car. With indicated 9 psi, the best pull was 426.x rwhp and 385.x wrtq. but a/f wasnt teh best, so backed off some timing, still have a few fuel issues and now it is sitting at 400hp and 375ish tq. Only thing is, it ran great on the dyno but onthe street, i get detonation under hard boost, so when i get the cobra maf, we will retune. So i will just stay outta boost for the most part and keep teh rpms down.
Double update: Well i am wrong the cobra wont work as the iat should be after the blower, so ordered a iat relocation kit, the saga continues.
