Default Supercharged!

Well i have been trying to tune my car since i put my supercharger on! Needless to say its not going well i can only hit the 5psi mark on a 11psi system! When i get to about 3500 RPM it spits an sputters an sounds like it is drowning! if i let up on the throttle for a sec it is fine but i guess my question is could this be a spark issue? one other thing it is running extremely rich but it is not smoking On my SCT tuner i can change spark advance but to be completly honest i don't know what to look for when im driving to tell if it needs advanced up a certain amout of degrees or decreased so any insight on spark advance an its funtions on the engine would greatly be appreciated! thanks

what do you have for ignition. if you dont run some sort of msd box or equivalent the spark can be blown out by the sc

how do you know its rich? do you have a wide band o2?

Just stock timing.....No i have a narrow band but it is pegged to the rich side it doesn't bounce like narrow bands generally do!

sounds like rich side detonation. If you run too lean you'll get too hot and pre-detonate, if you run too rich it will act similar, but its just too much fuel in the mix to ignite. Invest in a wideband before you go any farther or when you lean it out, you will end up melting a piston. Narrowband o2 and an air fuel gauge just isnt accurate enough to rely on for tuning. Get a true wideband and go from there.

the narrow band always pegs rich when under wot cause the stock o2s arent doing anything so basically you have no idea if your running rich.

and i didnt ask if your timing is stock, i asked what type of ignition you have...i.e stock, msd ignition box, what coil?

what are you running as far as fuel system goes? such has injector size? fmu? fuel pump? what sc?

Don't you have a dyno in your area? That's what you need.

agreed. if your relying on a narrow band o2 for tuning you have no idea what your doing
