boost
well you suck then! people say 8psi max on a stock GT, but i've been running 10psi for over a year!
it more depends on the power you're putting down than the psi. i could have run 12psi as long as i was at or under 400RWHP with a safe tune.

It also depends on what condition the motor is in, how much you push your car, how competent the driver is, what other supporting mods you have done. There is a lot of factors as to why and what people do. If your motor is in really good shape, i.e. no oil leaks, no idling problems, and no other problems then you should be able to run more boost safely. But on the other hand if you have oil leaks, prepare for them to get a lot worse the more boost you add. When it all comes down to it, what condition is you motor and trans in, how much do you push your car, what do you feel safe with?
Any oil leaks? How's your tranny? Have you ever had any over-heating problems? How many gaskets (within the entire motor) have you changed? Do you race often? Do you ever just get on your car for fun, and how often?
These are all questions you need to take into account.
If you don't any oil leaks, have a "strong" tranny, never had over-heating probs, have changed a few gaskets or at least not affraid to have to, you don't race but maybe 1 or 2 times a week, and you just get on your car for fun occasionally and not everytime you turn the car on, Then feel secure in running a higher boost.
What is the compression ratio on the V6's? That will help in knowing what is a good psi number. For every 5 lbs of boost, it's 1 point of compression.
Like mine I have 8:1 compression stock. I add 10 lbs. of boost, now I have 10:1 compression.
Also, is the block a 2 or 4 bolt main?
