Default Supercharger problem

Ok I have a PAxton Novi 1000 running 6 lbs of boost. I have owned the car for about 1 1/2 months. I always pull full boost around 4200 or so and the guage reads a consistant 6 lbs. So here is the problem, last night I was coming home from a friends house, hit it in 2nd gear from 35 to 65, run full boost and the guage climbs up to about 9 psi. OK that is weird, thinking maybe it was due to weather last night, go around 60 degrees so it would be denser. Well I go for a ride today and wanted to see if I could duplicate the results and sure enough it spiked up to 9 again. This isn't good because I am tuned for 6 psi, if I start pushing 9 then I will go lean I know that.

Any help would be appreciated,

Derek

uhhh.. are you positive it's only 6psi? my gauge reads about 6psi at about 4500rpm too. if you have an 8 pound pulley, then you're going to be running 8 pounds of boost. you can't adjust boost with the flick of a switch or anything. who did you buy it from? what size pulley is actually on there? that will tell you how much you should be running. i'd take it to a shop if i were you.

yeah it just sounds like youve got a different pulley. best thing to do is put it on a dyno and make sure everything is fine.

The thing I was worried about is that I know turbo cars can get boost spikes and boost creep and I would assume the same to be true of a S/C car. I know I had never until last night seen it reach 9 psi and all of a sudden it is going up to 9. Just seemed very weird to me that I wouldn't have noticed it until now. I agree with taking it to a shop and it is actually going in on Wednesday to do a run and check it all out on a wide band O2, any adjustments that need to be made will be done with the SCT XCAL2 that I got with the car. I just wondered if anyone had previously had these problems or issues.

mine jumps around a bit, might be my gauge though. i think i got a vacuum leak somewhere too cause i got a slight idle hang. i got the 8# pulley on mine though, it usually hits 9 max. does yours stay at 9psi when you keep it on wot? if it just jumps up there then settles back to 6 then you might have a leak on your vacuum line somewhere, or a kink.

It has been staying there so it shouldn't be a leak or spike technically

you notice a corresponding boost in power over the 6#? just trying to figger if it is your gauge.
