Nitrous
All sounds good to me. Have safe is it REALLY though?
I know this has been asked a million times, but I want responses from people that actually do have it.
I don't want to blow up my motor, but 100hp with the press of a button would be nice sometimes just to blow people away.

Nitrous is very expensive to do right. I bet I have nearly $1800 in all the nitrous lines, guages, heater, multiple bottles, switches, stages, etc. There are a lot of little things that make it so much better, but YES it is worth it. I also don't recommend keeping the bottle hooked up in your daily driver. One stop for speeding, and the ticket for nitrous in your car is huge. You may want to check your local and state laws to see what the penalty is for nitrous. Here it is a $500 fine, and the officer can impound your car for 30 days if he wants to be a d!ck about it.
in missouri its totally legal to have nitrous and run nitrous. In fact, on a local mustang website. someone mentioned how an officer took his bottle saying it was illegal, so he sued the **** out of the department, and won. I guess find out your local laws first.
I've had nitrous on all of my Stangs. 150 hp shot is safe on a stock Stang if you have a good fuel pump, I recomend atleast a BBK 190, 1-2 steps colder plugs, on a stock Stang I use autolite 26's on motor and 24's on the juice. Retard the timing about 2-4 degrees. Run your bottle pressure at about 900- 1000. Thats pretty much the just of it. I usually run about 4 passes on a bottle, and have it filled... Synyster

I never knew it was against the law...hmm. I just want a little power adder...not a huge system...we will see

a search warrant is actually needed unless they have reasonable cause, so just like drugs....
"JUST SAY NO !" to the request to look
also you have to have the bottle in brackets to transport it, and this is where the "out" is.
no matter what time it is, you tell them you just got it filled, thats why it's in there , and due to the high pressure and DOT laws , it must be secure.
anyways, when used correctly, w/ the few simple safety devices you get usually included in the kit, or separately for cheap ( msd, fp safety switch)
it is just as safe as anything that increases cylinder pressures to increase power ( blower , turbo , high comp etc)
problems arise when the fuel sytem becomes inadequate, due to old parts, too much nitrous for the car (over 150 on a stock motor is tooooooo much), failure to upgrade the pump when you should , incorrect application (push button control and NOT at wot or rpm too low)
do it right, you'll be golden, anyone who had a problem will admit, they were stupid about something
At the track making full passes, I'll pull a bottle after about 4 passes. I never spray less than 150hp and always run a warmer. But the bottles are never empty when I pull them.
Laws vary state to state but there are very few states that it is illegal to just have it installed on the car. It's generally worded that it is illegal to use on the street but they must be able to prove it was actually in use (and an opened bottle isn't good enough). I've stopped several cars with nitrous on them and haven't done anything (but I'm the cool cop anyway). I've had fellow officers try to bluff their way into making it a big deal, but it's just a scare tactic to punks who are rude.
You 5.0 guys shouldn't worry about nitrous. As long as it's installed properly, your motors will take quite a bit.
