x pipe problem

Default x pipe problem

ok here is the problem, my x pipe leaks on the driver side, the gasket is in. i heard i have to replace the bolts. but how the hell do i do that? the bolts that r in there r friggen studs. if someone knows how to do it or has done it please help. i need to get this thing fixed!!!! ty for ur help

mine are bolts. The flange has 2 holes that line right up to the headers and you throw the bolts in and tighten.

Well that might be your problem. There is no gasket on the Driver's side only on the passanger side and even then it is not a typical gasket, it is a soft metal oval ring. If you have a gasket on the drivers side I suggest taking it out and see what happens.

and if there is no gasket get one or make one. could be cause the x pipe is not originaly made for your car and its not fitting perfectly.

sry, my mistake, the gasket is on the passenger side, but anyways, maybe mine r bolts. the bolts that r in it, is the end of the bolts like square?

They still pull out... you may have to heat the metal around them to make them easier to come out but they do come out!

you can remove studs by using the "double nut" method, as in putting 2 nuts on the threads and putting the wrench on the bottom one to back the stud out.

ok ill try that double nut thing first. if that doesnt work could i just beat the **** of it? lol. ph and is this exhaust leak taking any power way from me? becuse when i put i the x pipe on i can barely ever chirp 3rd anymore, but before i had it on, i could chirp 4 th sometimes.

oh yea, 1 more thing. what is wrong with my clutch? sometimes it will have the normal amount of give in it, sometimes it will have absolutely no slack, and sometimes it will have more than it should.any ideas?
