Im not real sure what exhaust im going to put on my GT yet so I was wondering has anyone cut the stock mufflers off and ran stock catbacks?
If so what was the sound, flow Etc.

 

Ive heard quite a few flowmaster setups like this on 4.6's (seems they are still popular around here). It sounds fine, cant really tell a difference in loudness between that and the full flowmaster cat-back. Bull8t has that setup. Pm him and ask him what he thinks of it.

 

i unfortanately had 2 chambers on my stock cat back...it sounded loud with long tubes and off road h pipe, but the flows and non mandrel bent pipes were killing my performance

 

What if I just cut the mufflers off and keep the rest as is?

 

you would get pulled over left and right for having straight pipes

 

Just spend a few bucks and get a Magnaflow catback! Mandrel bent, Stainless steel, dyno proven.
