Default Flowmasters dependability???

I was looking at buying a flowmaster cat-back system and was wondering how well they held up??? Especially how well they do in the rust factor? Are they Stainless steel or no? Thanks.

they'll rust for sure, but should last 3-4 years. less if you drive in the winter and they use salt on the road[:@]

they rust. acer had flowmasters as one of his first exhausts (flows, then magnaflow, then loudmouth) and they rusted. didn't even have the car very long.

depends on climate and stuff...but they are aluminized steel...and do have the potential to rust.

depends on where you live and stuff. does it snow? is your car garaged? stuff like that. i went with an aluminized catback. i live in florida and the weather wont be that bad on it.

think of it this way...aluminized steel catback would prolly last just about as long as the stock exhaust maybe...give or take. so rust wont be a HUGE problem (again...depending on climate). i just couldnt see spending the extra money for stainless when ill never see snow and stuff.

just get something made out of SS. flowmaster catbacks are just as much as all the other SS, but they have a tendancy to rust as everyone has said.

yep, here in new orleans my fathers first cat back system was flowmaster, rusted out in 4 years. he is now sporting magnaflows and loves them.
