When I increased my boost I used the water/meth to prevent detonation on pump gas without pulling timing. I was able to go 3 psi over what I could run without it. Using it at boost would not be a optional thing, it has to be used every time. It actually makes the mixture richer for a little safety magin. I could have gone much further but my shortblock is at its limit.
It would be interesting to use nitrous that way because there would be no pump needed but while the nitrous would do a great job of cooling the charge, I don't know how much you could raise the boost without going dangerously lean.

Mine didn't raise boost psi. But I did make 40 more RWHP.
The goal of the original poster and mine as well was to raise the boost. The use of the meth was to do this without detonation. He was also asking what HP gain from the meth there might be.

The difference is that N2O will also add more power on top of being able to have more freedom with the tune. Boost and nitrous don't blow motors, going lean or making too much power does. Both tools allow you to gain more power in similar ways but methanol's added HP is negligible, it's the cooling function that net's the more tunable power while nitrous cools and adds power itself.

I am running the vortech A trim with the methonal injection. I also run a 100 dry shot of NOS. Let me say wow what a difference the NOS makes. She is one nasty BItch. I suggest start at a 75 shot for a couple runs and then pull the plugs to make sure your not running to lean. Mine runs a 100 shot with no problems.

hydro45f is already running 8psi non-intercooled. Assuming his motor is built, he wants to run 15psi. The meth would let him do this without detonating. He could have it tuned to lean it out while on meth for more HP.
What would he have to do to SAFELY use a dry nitrous shot to accomplish this?

you have your car tuned to the meth as you would N2O. I wouldnt feel safe shooting a 100 shot Dry with my SC but if it works sure. My plan was to do a FMIC and spray the Intercooler with N2O when racing. Could you make a wrap bar around the charge pipe and spray N2O on that and make it work as well? anyone know
