Default how much??

i have an o4 mach1 with a vortech non intercooled, i am running 8lbs of boost. I just recently put on water-methanol injection and i was wondering how much boost i can run with only the waster-meth and a good tune? Also, how much power do you think the water meth will add after its tuned?

you don't need to really run more boost. get your car retuned by someone who knows how to tune meth injection kits and they can advance the timing some more.

is your engine built up?

you usually pick up around 45-50rwhp. more timing and less fuel is all that is needed to gain hp, you dont need to add more boost. if you really want to, its not the boost level that will damage the motor is the hp is making

Up to approximately 20 psi boost, water/methanol injection will provide all the density increase/detonation control needed in most applications. Of course, Intercooling and water/methanol injection would provide even greater benefits especially beyond 20 psi boost. Most air-to-air intercoolers are only 50-65% efficient. That means for example, that with 11psi boost and its 120°f air charge temperature increase, an intercooler reduces the air charge temperature only 60 degrees. Also, an intercooler will reduce boost 2 - 4 psi. on average.

I say put a small dry nitrous hit on it. It will cool the intake charge and your motor will like the nitrous. And yes it is safe.

That is what I did with mine. Where I live it gets 110. At 6 lbs of boost I had a dry shot on it. With a dry shot, the rule is....whatever number the jet...is usually the HP that the shot is. However on a FI motor this increases. My 24 jet made 40 hp. You could set it up to run like methanol. Use a window switch....just like you would use a progessive switch. Also with such a small shot, your 10 lbs nitrous bottle with last longer then a jug of Methanol. Plus Nitrous is way cooler, for the bling factor and temp going into the throttle body.

You think the nitrous will last a couple of tanks of gas if it is used to prevent detonation anytime he is in boost? (not being an ***, I just didn't know the nitrous would last that long)

In some cases yes. That can be fixed my dropping the timing. I tested mine on the dyno with a wide band. When mine was set up, my bottle lasted for over 3 weeks. You dont realize how much a small shot of nitrous will do. I used it when I was racing someone mostly.
