Default nitrous....

hey everyone. im sure every1 already knows im new to the forums, but i've been doing alot of reading on every1's posts. anyways, as of now my 04 gt is stock, except for the drop in k & n. in the VERY NEAR future I've decided to take a shot at trying nitrous. from what iv'e read, every1 says that its safe to run up to a 125 shot on a stock n/a 2v. and from every1's recommendations I think im going to go with the Nitrous Express Ford EFI Plate System offered by americanmuscle.com (http://www.americanmuscle.com/nx-efi...2vgt-9604.html). I would plan on running it at 100 shot, (hopefully i can do that lol), but what I'm a little confused about is if i really need accessories such as the window switch, the bottle warmer, and the purge kit. I don't plan on doing track runs as of yet (def. not experienced enough for that yet) just plan on putting a few people i know in their place (ricers etc.). Are the any of those accesories or additional mods that anyone would highly reccomend, considering this is the first time im experimenting with nitrous? BTW, im 19 and I'm working with about $1000 as of right now, so keep that in mind too lol. Sorry about the long post, and any newbie tendancies I may have. Any installs are going to be done by myself, and my buddy who is studying automotive tech, in my fathers garage (which is pretty well equipped, minus a lift). Thank you very much!

-Mark

you should be fine w/ 100 shot and your car. Done properly, you will see some real nice gains. You def. want a bottle warmer and a WOT switch. The bottle warmer will make the nitrous hit at its maximum potential and consistent. The WOT switch is for the safety of your engine. You dont want to spray under 3k rpms. That will spell trouble for your engine. The purge kit is nice to have but you dont neccessarily NEED it. I would recommend a dyno tune for the kit as well. You will have to tune your car regardless for the nitrous. I use a SCT four bank chip w/ a custom nitrous tune and that works well so far.

You can buy one with a Nitrous tune in it from Breenspeed or have a custom tune done for you. EITHER WAY GET A TUNE. Cutting a corner here WILL cost you. ALOT! BTW the first pull I did with just a shot on the stock tune to set a base line for A/F etc... After the tune I got 11 more HP and 46 more on the TRQ side. It's money well spent for safety and power. Just my .02

and this is still a VERY conservitive tune.

You can go either handheld tuner or dyno tune. Just remember that you should save up to do it right if you do it at all. Cutting a corner now, will end up costing you in the end w/ blowing the engine. I paid 330 for my chip and 250 buxs for the total dyno tune. It was expensive but now I am running safe and I can get my chip retuned anytime and just pay for dyno time. You could look up Mustang Magic in Deer Park in NY. I hear good things about them. I was tuned at Kauffman Motorsports in Dillsburg PA and was pretty happy w/ them. A little farther away but yea...

Your money isn't going to go as far if you buy all your parts from a retail dealer.
