Nitrous, hard on the engine?
Nitrous should be safe for the motor as long as you have it tuned right and use it responsibly. However, Nitrous has the ability to become a piston hole punch very easily. Just be smart, be careful, and it should be fine.
What if I just run a 50-75 shot every so often. My Mustang has 79,000 miles on it and dont want to put to much of a strain on it. But I just need more damn power. I hvae had vette's and Camaros but I cant afford a Vett now and the Camaro styling is just tired so I went to the Mustang. Looks good, sounds good, but I really would like it to be in the low 13's so Im guessing Nitrous is the quicest way to go beyond the gears, CAI, and exhaust.
Stay under 125hp shot and you'll be fine as long as you only hit it above 2500 rpm below 6000 rpm only at full throttle after the engine is warm. A window swith and wide open throttle switch are a must if you want safe reliable power.
Hey mdvaldosta! Thanks for the reply.
Im use to running SB Chevy motors(old school) so Im new to Ford motors as well as nitrous. What is a window switch and an open throttle switch and how much extra will that cost on top of the kit? Sounds liike you have run nitrous before huh?

Nitrous is fun and very addicting
I hear the 4.6's can do a 125 easy
But, you should do a wet fogger system if possible.
Go straight in through the injectors.
And, as long as you don't run lean.
You should be fine, as long as you're not doing some insane shot like a 250 or something.
Think of it as normal boost from a SC
Could stock internals take a whopping 250 more HP?

Switches can be placed on the shifter (manually) on the throttle body and under the pedal (automatic). I always preferred a manual switch in the shifter this way I could control the giggles when I wanted to regardless of full throttle
