Next bypass question
bypass valves are silent because the air is dumped back into the air system after the maf. if you want to hear it, youll need a bov. if you want a bov youll need to run a blow through maf and the bov has to be before it. procharger is the only one that runs a blow through maf setup. you can run a bov on a draw through maf setup but every time you shift, you will dump metered air into the atmosphere which will cause a rich spike in your afr which isnt good for the motor and will cost you hp.
so can I by a blow through maf and set it up for another blower - or is procharger the only company that makes blow throughs... I have always been told that bov were not as loud on s/c setups, but I was hoping maybe something new had come out that was a little bit closer to how the turbo bov sounds
It doesn't just do the spikes when you shift, running a bov in a draw through setup will cause the car to run poorly anytime your car is under partial throttle. The valve is venting at all times other than wot.
There is nothing different between the setups as far as the meters go. To switch to a blow through setup all you have to do is get piping & plumb the meter to be located after the supercharger
The bov is the same sound on both providing both are running the same psi, same valve, & a similar intake setup.
