OB think of it this way, when you get a S/C in some ways your settling for it, as in a S/C is lower matinence, less space, easy install, no frequent oil changes, etc. I think it all depends on how much you maintain your car. Also about it being cluttered, after you put that turbo in, im sure youll be able to get some parts out pretty fast. Im going for the HP single 60mm turbo kit in the spring. I just love BOV's and Wastegates. I cant resist. The HP gains are just insane too. Thats just my 2 cents. Im not a fan of the KB blower for the 5.0's just because it looks too small, like the pullie is so far away from the twin screw housing ( i guess its called ). Well in the end its your car man, sleep on it I guess.

Well, that blower there is going to be more fun of a street car.
Because of all the power down low at my disposal.
Only reason I'd want the turbo is for the numbers it can produce.
S/C's can do almost the same thing at a fraction of the cost.

But can have a better down low, where most street driving is done.
But those numbers do look mighty tastey...

Be objective guys and gals, and answer me honestly: Is the main reason for getting tt's the sheer mystique of having tt's?

Well, my reasoning behind it is maybe a little faster spool AND
I don't have to run a Y pipe to use em...
HATE!!!! Y pipes....
Guess I'll just go with the KB tho
Lotsa power downlow and such, less maintenance, easier install.
Etc.Etc.

Thanks Guys!

But PLEASE someone answer me this,
If I were to run an INTERCOOLER on my KB Setup that I'm thinking about getting later down the line.
With my current engine being built as we speak.
It's going to have 8.5:1 Compression and be run ONLY on 93 Octane( No higher or lower)
I'll be running 15psi WITHOUT it, that's about the most you'd want to go without breaking something down the line.
How much more boost could I run SAFELY if I added in an Intercooler?

Maybe 17psi?
Can anyone give me a number or equation or something close to that?

I ran 18 psi on an intercooled, twin screw 18 psi setup on 94 octane. It was tuned to the hilt, though. I was running 8.5 to 1 as well. As long as your tune is good, 17 psi will work for you. How big are your injectors? 42 lb-ers minimum.

Yes I know I'm going to have to run some beefy injectors...
Going to be running a 150 shot of the n2o as well.
And it will be tuned as good as we can get it(dyno jet + custom flip chip)
So it can be pretty dead on I guess...

Going to go over the injectors, cooling and maintenance and the whole shebang with the place that's building me my engine.

checkem out if ya wish

www.golenengineservice.com

Reasons for going with them:
LOCAL!!!! if any problems, theyre a hop skip and a jump away...
Already know people running 9's with their stuff, so it's good reliable stuff
and can't forget the Lifetime Warranty on it either.

Damn movie... stopped to watch it for a sec while in the midst of typing this.
Lost train of thought and it's not comming back to me
Lemme know about your setup on that 18psi monster there birdie
I know you drive them top fuel funny cars or whatnot.
But let's hear about your street stuff

May as well finish with what I was saying i'm going to do engine wise
331 Stroker, completely forged internals(I'll post new spec sheet in a couple of days), AFR 185 Heads, custom cam, and just going to toss the rest of my stuff that was on the stock 302 on top of it.
I will be running the 150shot as soon as it's ready for it, and Next Year I'll have the monies for my blower and then more fun begins

I agree with 94Cbra, the twin screw is a better idea, and you can make good power without the complications of a turbocharger.

Turbos are the way to go if you have the money. For one thing they are simply more efficent, you dont lose the 50 percent power of the blower.

BTW why TT? Why not a single turbo setup. This "turbo lag" is all bull**** anyway anymore, unless you are running one of them (I think it is called) To4R. Bout as big around as your head. How many races have you seen that turbo lag ended up really effecting?

Turbos are totally badass, you will make more power guarenteed (alot more), have a more unique setup, and it will have much better drireabilty considering just crusing around town. All that power down low on the eatons and twin screws sucks IMHO Why have all of that on tap when crusing around, constantly boosting your engine? Instead you have a totally streetable car thats easy to drive and easy to keep traction on, so long as you keep the RPMs low.

How many record holder (or even competeing) 1/4 mile cars have you seen with eaton or twin screw setups??? All of that power down low is good for one thing: Crappy launches and burning tires.

Well, I'll say what I did in the chat to ya.
Why did you buy a v8 in the first place if you don't like power down low?

Only reason I want a turbo is for the insane numbers of course.
And the damn cool BOV with a V8 Rumble...
That's scary

So over all, what kind of price difference are we talking? I'm thinking about one of these in the spring time as well. I'm leaning towards TT's cuz of the gears i got on there already. Don't want to have to take them off. What do you think?
