I just had my new American thunder flows cat back kit installed on my 04 gt the other day, and it is not nearly as loud as I thought or hoped. I was reading somewhere that they are different mufflers that come with the kit vs. the original 40 series. Well, my question is if I get an offroad X or H pipe, will I have any problems with the car running right or some engine lights comming on?? If so, how do you remedy. Also, will the X or H pipe make it way louder???? Sorry, Im new to cars, I am a bike man....

get an offroad h & mil eliminators to keep the check engine light off, then your car will be hella loud for sure

So the engine light will come on huh? What about the idle? My buddy had a 94 Cobra with Offroad H pipe and flows and his car would die all the time.

Thats not a typical problem. Something was obviously wrong with his car, because an offroad pipe and flows will actually help your idle out

 

his exhaust had nothing to do with that, the worse that can happen is a check engine light from the rear 02 sensors telling the ecu the cats arent working (or arent there), all that does is throw a check engine light it doesnt affect drivability.
