116 octane?

Default 116 octane?

would it be a bad idea to add a little 116 octane to my 03 gt just when i go to the track? i have a 125 wetshot with 4 degrees of timing pulled and im still on my stock fuel pump. thanks guys

Is it leaded or unleaded gas? If it's unleaded, it would be fine.

Sure, he can get away with running it... but what would be the point? If you're not experiencing any detonation and you're going to leave everything else the way that it is now then you won't gain anything with higher octane.

That's true, but it's not a bad idea while spraying.

how about filling up with 116 and advancing your timing till it pings then back off 10 degrees, to get the most out of the higher octane.
