Default how much can it handle?

Hey fellas, now here the deal. I have a 92 gt with a p1sc intercooled. now what is the most boost i can run with the stock motor without blowing it!!!! and are 42 lb. injectors new maf worth putting on a stock motor? will the stocker handle it??? i just dont know?? i have 19 lb injectors and a fmu now, what should i do to get the max performance out of the stock motor with my procharger? i want to get this car running really good with out changing the motor at least for now untill i build my new garage but hell thats not for a few mor years.

thanx,

i could be off on the year, but i believe in 92 the block got stuffed w/ hyper crap rods and pistons so i wouldnt exceed 8-10 psi. i could see upgrading the fuel system and maf to ensure you do not max out the fuel injectors or maf which could have horrific results. if running the stock intake and heads, i would upgrade those first before increasing boost to maximize efficiency

That MAF has to be pegged at WOT. I can't see how you're not maxing it out. Are you getting a CEL towards the top end when at WOT?

As far as injectors and boost go. Just get a 10# pulley and run either 30 or 36# injectors. That way you can ditch the FMU and won't ahve to worry about it. It may be a good idea to get a nice intank pump as well. You can get a 255lph Walbro pump for $100.

i thought they changed the rods in the last year for the fox in 93? take that with a grain of salt as i don't know anything about the old foxes, i just remember seeing somebody say it.

92 still had forged pistons. it was in 93 when they made the change. i have a 92 so i know.

boost pressure is not the issue. its the limit of the stock block you have to worry about. you can keep adding boost untill you hit 450rwhp. at that point its a guessing game as to when the motor will let go (so say nitrous, sc, and stupid people who just repeat what they hear). talk to turbo guys and they will tell you that the stock block will hold 550rwhp (assuming the tune is safe)and at that point the motor is a time bomb. i ran 461rwhp on my stock block untill the pistons gave way. my buddy ran 475rwhp untill his pistons gave way. in both cases, the block was still in one piece.

as far as your fuel goes, you better have a big pump in the tank (255lph) and yes, get 42# injectors and a new maf. fmu's are just a bandaid for a **** poor fuel system. a boost referencing fuel pressure regulator wouldnt kill you either

You think he'll really need 42# injectors? I was under the impression that he wasn't going to add more than 10 PSI or so of boost. Didn't seem like the type to go all out I put him at around 330 - 350 rwhp when all was said and done.

he said he had future plans to change the motor so i assumed he would build up......better internals for more power.

and you know as well as i do boost is addicting (so is hp). i thought id be happy at 8psi but i wasnt. then i thought id be happy at 10psi and i wasnt, etc, etc. thought id be happy with 550hp but i wasnt. im now going for 700hp+........and it all started with 8 pounds of boost

Ok guys just so we all know i have a procharger p1sc intercooled with procharger FMU and a 255lph inline fuel pump. Now what will i need to do to get maximum performance running 10 psi? is 10psi safe with my stock motor? or should i stick with 8psi? im new to F/I so dont think im just a young idiot!! i just need some good advice. Like i said i want MAXIMUM perf. out of her. So right off the rip i need 30lb injectors and a new MAF right. now is there a certin maf i should get? ive heard of blow throughmaf andsuckin maf's. i know you guys wont steer me wrong.

Lata.

Jesus, tell me about it! You know, 13 months ago I was bone stock. Now I'm over 450rwhp and it STILL FEELS SLOW! LoL. It feels great for awhile, but then you start to get used to it and it feels normal. Then it gets worse and you seriously feel like it's slow or something is wrong. I'm already at low 80s for the duty cycle for my injectors [:@] Time to make a tough decision.... Do I upgrade or do I call it quits and leav it as is?
