I'm going to get 4.10 gears installed on an '06 GT. I already have an Airaid CAI without tune (doesn't require one). Because the company that's going to install the gears will use a Predator tuner to make needed adjustments to the speedometer, does the tuner automatically tune for the CAI that's already installed (which I assume will help with HP increases)? Or does whoever is doing the tune (with the Predator) need to make specific adjustments himself?
Input is greatly appreciated because I have never even seen one of these things used before. I don't know what their capabilites are exactly.

I am a little confuzzed. Did you buy the tuner with your gears or is the shop selling you one? The way they work is they lock them selves to the CPU of what ever car they tune so they can't be used again on a different car UNLESS the original car is put back to stock specs. If you you bought one say from americanmuscle.com or brenspeed.com they come with a "canned tune" and you can adjust some things after such as gear ratios etc.If your shop is a Predator dealer/tuner then they can make all of the necessary adjustmentsto correct timing and A/F ratios for any other mods that you have done on a dyno.

 

The shop I'm going to is a Predator dealer/tuner. I don't have the tuner yet. They will sell it to me when they install the gears so that the necessary adjustments can be made (eg. to the speedo).
I already have an Airaid CAI installed without tune. My question is.. when the shop uses the tuner for the gear installation, does the tuner recognize that there is a CAI installed as well, and does the tuner optimize whatever is necessary to take advantage of the CAI? There will be no actual dyno tune (unless I request for $500. I was told that a dyno tune would not be much help given the few mods that I have.)
