Air intake kits....
Im looking for a air intake kitfor my 06 mustang gt.....Right now I am most likely going with a K&N Air Charger(15.26 HP @ 6000 RPM)
.....Has anyone on here had experience with them or have another intake kit they would recommend? I Know K&N has a kit called the typhoon kit but is advertising (8.94 HP @ 5207 RPM) and is more money because it is chrome......Thanks 4 ur Help/Posts......

Dont waste your money - a pipe is pipe for most part - the air filter itself is where you get the most gain
spending 400 bucks on a air filter is foolish... especially n/a and v6 at that (no offense)
alot of people buy these "big tube" intakes - that are completely pointless... a tube only flows as much as its smallest diameter will permit... so have a 95mm tube running through you 80mm maf, is pointless, and infact probly creates more turbulance

Don't bother with K&N - they are proud of the name and it is reflected in the price.
Look around for a good price on a JLT, C&N, Airaid or aFe.
Starting November 1st Airaid is giving away a free Throttle Body Spacer when you purchase a CAI - the spacers don't really do much for the Mustang engines, but it sure won't hurt putting a $100 part on for free.

they all need to be tuned, dont listen to the makers when the say you can use your stock tune,, its bull,9 times out of ten when you put one on your car, your engine will run lean, and after time, there she blows!!! i have been through all of this when i got one, but i was smart and put my stang on a dyno,, the maf was whey off,and it was a kit that supposeably you didnt need to tune. trust me if you buy any kit put it on a dyno and also buy a sct-2. thanks jj
you can dyno tune your stock car and gain 15-20 rwhp... all those companys list their intakes gains with tunes... its total BS... the intake, makes it 1) rev a little more free 2) increases mpg 3) gets about a 5 -10 (crank) gain
