motorcycles are loud from the FACTORY. mustangs are somewhat loud from the factory too, but you can only go so loud before it's noticable. cops know this, that's why they don't pull over mustangs as quick as they pull over a honda or acura. those things are quiet when they're born, so putting a fartcan on it obviously isn't stock. in a lot of states, it's illegal to do any aftermarket things to your car. so at least we can get away with more than the ricers.

About the mid-pipe, you want one that's HTS coated (if it's a mac product). My H-pipe was 2 pieces, not four, eh, I dunno.

 

I think it all depends on where you live. Ive been told that my exhaust SCREAMS under WOT and Ive only been pulled over twicee by cops just to be told to lay off it a bit and that the car sounds great. Im happy. <--- see!

 

One reason motorcycles have loud exhaust that a alot of people odnt know is so you know they are they. even if you cant see them in your blind spot your gonna hear am so they have loud exhausts

 

not all motorcycles are loud from the factory. they can be made very loud with new pipes or there mufflers or baffles taken out. i read your original post and im not saying it bull **** that cops pull you over when you have a loud car, im saying its bull **** that they CAN pull you over when you have an loud exhaust. I know they can cause i was pulled over before.

Sorry, but I gotta call bull$hit on this. I eat, sleep and live motorcycles – factory equipped they are pretty soft, including Harley’s. My GIXXER is out fitted with the loudest exhaust known to crotch rockets (D&D) – I get on it all the time and have yet to be pulled over (knock on wood)….

 

you can call BS all you want. this was told to me and Acer buy a cop. how are you going to call BS when some already agree and some disagree. plus, a motorcycle isn't very quiet from the factory. even if it is "soft" sounding. it's still louder than a lot of cars. plus, if you bothered to read the whole post, you'd see that i said cops know motorcycles are loud, and mustangs are decently loud from the factory. hence why they don't get noticed as fast as civics with fartcans. civics are quiet from the factory.

 

cory, when you getting those installed? did you even get them yet? and did you order a new midpipe yet?

 

I’m not here to argue with you and was only making the point that motorcycles are not loud from the factory (compared to aftermarket setups). And, cops around here (Midwest) aren’t typically sticklers about vehicle sound levels…

Changing gears, how do you like your SLP’s? I’m on the fence between Flows AmThunder and Loudmouth 2’s. I like a nice, deep sound, but not obnoxiously loud. (I’ve gotta cart my kids around from time to time and while I wanna sound mean, don’t want to sound like fuggin Jeff Gordon when dropping them off for school.) I’ve heard that Flows can sound canny?
