i have an 02 GT5spd. with Magnaflow Catbacks and a K&N CAI. im thinking about getting a chip for it. any suggestions on chips or other stuff to make this pony run? i'd rather not spray it...

just go get your car dyno'd they will put a chip in for you

 

It won't give you more horse power, but have you considered gears? It'll give you some "get up and go"

Oh, and if you're going to get a chip, why not fork out the extra hundred dollars for a tuner?

 

This is the most important aspect - what does your tuner use? Diablo or SCT - they both pretty much do the same - but whatever you buy, make sure it's what your tuner tunes with...

Go w/ what your tuner uses. If you dont have a tuner, find a local one w/ a good reputation. I have SCT since my tuner(SGS Automotive) uses SCT. I think I gained about 19 rwhp from that w/ my mods

ill prolly just go to this place called Houston Performance and they install a chip (Autologic)and do dyno runs on it all for like $450. good deal/bad deal? what kind of hp gain am i looking at? i want to be able to do the thing where i can switch from "stock" mode to "race" mode, or whatever...

 

The pricing isnt bad if that includes the chip. If you want to switch tunes, the only one that I am aware of that can do it is the SCT four-bank chip. I have that and I can switch between a few different tunes on the fly. Most of the others, they load a tune and that is what you have til you change it w/ a programmer.
