Default Racing block or not?

I am wanting to build a motor to put out 500 to 600 hp with a single turbo and am wanting to know if I am going to need a racing block or should I use a common 302 block? Because turbos do not hit as hard as super chargers I am thinking I can get away w/a regular block ( not bored more than .030 over ) but that is why I am asking you guys. So, what do you think??

your right on the borderline pretty much. Some people willrun that muchpower and be fine for years and other will split it in 2 weeks. If you have the funds i would go with an aftermarket block. Its better to pay more the first time then to have your block come apart and take out your expensive internals then you have to go aftermarket anyways. Plus that way if you ever want to make more power (which all of us do) you can where if you had a stock block theres nothing you can do.

Yes, this is kinda what I was thinking ( not to say I know it all ). I want to target around 550 HP +/- a few horses. Thanks for the reply......
