Default Custom Cold Air Intake Concern

Ive got a 99 mustang gt almost stock. So i decided to make my own "cold air intake" for my car.So i went to home depot bought some 4" couplers and"4 pcv pipe and stuck a Cone filter on the end of it. It starts at my maf sensor and goesinto the fender well. By the time i was done it ended up being longer than i expected but basically the filer is about an inch of the base of the fenderwellright behind the fog lights. Well today and it rained like hell and when i was pumping some gas i checked the filter to see if it was wet and it was. Should i be worried? Now i now that i cant drive through huge puddles of water anymore but should i worry if the filter gets wet. I mean even if it does get wet the water has to go up the pipe curve through the maf and up the intake tube and into the engine. SHould i worry? Im not but i just wanted to make sure... sorry so long

If the filter is getting wet then moisture is getting into your air mixture. Moisture makes air less dense which you want the air to be more dense. You are basically not doing any good when your filter gets wet or maybe even losing HP. I don't think it will damage anything because the moisture that exists is going to be evaporated very quickly.
