Nitrous Users In Here!!!
Post up what nitrous kit you run and how you like it. I'm looking to pick up a kit here pretty soon and wanted to see other peoples thoughts and experiences. I know NX and ZEX seem to be the more popular kits on the forums, but info on any kits woud be great. Thanks.
I have been considering the NX plate kit, since I have seen so many good results. I also like how NX sets there jets according to wheel hp. Either way I am definitely getting a wet kit. I am also going to get a purge kit and bottle warmer as well.
Yea but lets say you gun it on a low gear at low rpm?
Last thing you want is to spray while at about 1500 rpms...
Its not necessary but it's always better to be safe than sorry IMO.

I'm not experienced with nitrous, so what would happen if nitrous was injected at that low of an rpm?
I also have questions about purging. When you press the purge button, does nitrous automatically spray for as long as you hold the button or what?

At low RPM, think about what's going on: you're spraying nitrous into the intake at a constant flow. That is, the nitrous bottle and solenoids have no idea what RPM you're at, and they're just pushing it into the intake at a constant volume. Inside the engine, though, the nitrous and fuel combination is being sucked into the cylinders during every stroke. The net result is that at low RPM, you're getting far more of the mixture into the cylinders. At 3000 RPM, for example, you're getting twice the amount as at 6000 RPM. So, you can imagine that running nitrous at, say 1000 RPM, is far more stressful on the motor as at 3000 RPM, and typically causes a "nitrous backfire" - meaning that the nitrous/fuel combination can explode in the intake manifold (rather than the cylinders) - a bad thing. So that's why you don't want the system triggered at low RPM.
got that from this site...

The purge kit that I had would purge for as long as I held the button and there was nitrous in the line to purge. I have a Nitrous Works kit. It is okay. It came w/ the car. I would look into the Anderson Fordmotorsports button panel for the cig. tray. It is nice and clean w/ a stealth look too. I like it. Have fun w/ it and look into a new/better clutch if you are running a stocker. (srry, didnt see you were auto.)
