Default Someone Explain Tuners!!!

Ok, so I am a little confused. I see tuners and chips all over the place. I am installing a P1SC on my 2000 GT and am going to get a dyno tune done. I am pretty sure I am going to go with a Diablo, however, I was told to get the Black one vice the red one. Additionally, it looks like the Predator is the only thing that is offered? Does this just plug into the OBD and unplug later or is it a chip that is put into the OBD? Does the tuner stay plugged in and you have this wire run to a hand held unit? What's the difference between a tuner and a chip? It seems like some are handheld computers that you would plug in and adjust the tune and others are chips that you just plop right in to the OBD. WTF!?!? Im rackingmy brain trying to understand this. Thanks in advance.

Default RE: Someone Explain Tuners!!!

it plugs into the diagnostic port under the dash. I have a predator I want to get rid of, I installed a vortech kit but ended up getting an sct xcal because thats what everyone around here who dyno tunes uses. My predator has a tune in it for 38# injectors check with who ever is going to dyno tune your car and see what they are familiar with (you pretty much have to tune it on a dyno) if you end up going with the predator let me know I'll let mine go for 250, its only 2 months old my car is also a 2000
