nitrous install and dyno tune cost...?

RE: nitrous install and dyno tune cost...?
Around here in illinois, performance shops are a lot cheaper than a ford dealership. lack of constant work, specialized work, etc. Idk what model mustang you have, but an estimate for a s197 install would probably be 2 hours install. Est. $60 hr. Dyno tune would probably be 200-300 for a nitrous setup if you can find a good shop.

install it yourself, it is super easy. look at the faq part at the top of this forum. there is a quick pictorial i posted for a dry kit. not much more complicated for a wet kit, just a little more to do
most shops wuill charge $500 for install of a kit
another $500 for the dyno tune total, thats about $250 for the chip and $250 for the tuning time and burn the tune

My shop charged my 150. There was no need to tune it since i only have a 125 shot.

125 shot is fine on stock timing and stock plugs. I would install it yourself...I took me about 2 and half hours and there isnt anything you cant do in your driveway. Ive ran 5 bottles through mine....I gapped the plugs to .040 and checked my plugs to see what they look like and listened for detonation after a few passes..If you pay attention its fine. I also run a fuel pressure saftey switch so it doesnt go lean. Just watch your plugs they will tell if its running lean. Nitrous Bob can tell you what to look for with your plugs.

Lot depends on the wiring. If you are putting the standard kit there is not much time involved. Mine is wired back to a switch plate and then had them put in mu gauges etc. I think they said it would take 3 hours for the standard install.

If you don't get a tune for the N20. At the very least get a wideband sensor. A very cheap investment that could save you thousands in the long run. Plus pulling plugs everytime you run your car is the old way of checking a tune. What does a plug look like with the AFR is at 12.5, 13.0, 13.5, 14.5. The point being if you do not have the money to get a tune orto atleastget awideband senor, than you do not havethe money for N20. The leaner you run your engine the less life your enginge will have period.
