muffler help
going to be doing my exhaust on my 2000 GT soon, however cant really decide on some mullfers, i have it narrowed down.
What im looking for:
louder then stock idle, mean/deep/muscle sound throughout the RPMS(1k-redline), not too much snap crackle and pop on decleration.
What i have: can either run with stock catted H-pipe or can use BBK O/R H-pipe
Mufflers ive been considering: SLP LM1 or LM2, flowmaster 40's, MAC Flowpath
I am open to suggestions!

Basically if you don't want to much popping or rasp, i would do the 40's with an o/r h, or consider something like magnapacks or stingers with your stock h.
I run sss mufflers (alot like stingers but much cheaper in price) and get a awesome mean and deep sound without any popping.
Stay away from slp lm1's... it probably has the most snap crackle and pop of any setup out there

Yeh, I mean I dont mine a little snap or pop, but i dont want something that sounds crappy.
Flowmasters drone alot at curising speeds though dont they? that would probably drive me crazy after a while/long trip!
I just want it loud enough peope will hear it coming/turn their heads just by rolling past em/not getting on it without too much popping. (i have been looking on youtube for about 3days stright now! lol)
how would LM2 sound with an o/r H? also how would stinger or magnapacks sound with an O/r H
i have a feeling you kind of understand the sound i am looking for! loud aggressive but not sounding disgusting! and i would still like to beable to hear my self think..but only to an extent hah

You will get some drone with flows and a o/r h, but it will have that classic throaty mustang sound.
Any straight through muffler (lm2's, stingers, packs, etc) with a o/r h would most likely have alot of snap crackle & pop. You would probably be best with a catted mid pipe or possibly an o/r x pipe.
These are obviously just generalizations, because the ideal exhaust sound is a really individual thing!

you im thinking:
o/r H w/ flows, mac, LM2 maybe? or stingers maybe?
or
High flow catted H/X or stock H with LM1's,stingers or magnapacks
edit: also i though x pipes were more raspy than H pipes?

An o/r h pipe with a "straight through" muffler will usually be more raspy than a o/r x.
Usually a chambered muffler will sound best with the h pipe, and a straight through muffler will usually sound best with the x pipe.
I think the o/r h with flows or mac, or o/r x with stingers or magnapacks would sound great imo.
If you do a catted (h or x) pipe i would stick with the straight through style muffler.
