Default what mod next?

i have an 03 gt 5 speed, with a magnaflow catted x pipe, flowmaster 1 chamber weld-ins, and a vortech v2 sq (with all the supporting mods). the rest of the car is completely stock. if i wanted to spend just a few hundred bucks, what would you suggest as my next mod? TB? gears? short throw shifter? any suggestions are appreciated. by the way, i dont even know whay my dyno numbers look like, or what kind of boost i am running. the guy that tuned it didnt have his dyno set up yet, so he did the air/fuel ratio by driving it. and i asked him what the boost was and he said he didnt even take notice to what it was running. he seems to have done a good job though, only had car back a few weeks but it has been running great. he also said he did a very conservative tune. i want to get it dynoed soon, they wont be able to tell me what kind of boost im runnin will they? thanks and sorry for the long post!

if he cant give you an a/f ratio under boost, he didnt tune it. tuning is done on a dyno, not crusing down the street. just because you add timing or fuel or visa versa, doesnt mean you gained any hp, thats what the dyno is for.

tune then gears

if he didnt tune it then how would it be running so good? wouldnt it still be running like crap like it was when i gave it to him? im not sayin you guys are wrong, cause believe me you know way more about this stuff then i do! this guy does all the tunes and installs around where i live and i have only heard good things about him so i trusted him when i dropped it off. i just know he downloaded the program that i needed into the sct tuner according to the mods that i had (SC and exhaust) and he said he took it out and ran it to get the A/F correct. like i said i know many other people that have used him and gave positive feedback, i guess i should still go take it and have it dyno tuned? i guess it shouldnt be all that expensive since i have the tuner now and everything

the tune can be a generic tune for the mods you have. you can tune driveability on the street if he had a wide band with him. wot i wouldnt trust a "drive down the street" tune with a boosted motor.

so if i wanna take it to the dyno and have them tune it now, all they would need to do is the A/F right? they wouldnt even need to use my sct tuner for that right?

No, that's not how it works. He uses his own software on his own computer to create the tune file, but your tuner is what he must use to transfer it into your car. Also, he very well may have adjusted it close, and then went a little rich so as to be safe for now until it is dynoed. VERY GOOD tuners are usually able to get pretty close with just a wideband and the butt dyno, but I would still recommend a Dyno tune to be safe.

oh ok, yeah that sounds about right cause i know he said that he kept on more on the rich side just to be safe. he said its alot better to be on the rich side as opposed to the lean side with the risk of detonation. and believe me, there is no question as to whether i gained any hp out of it, it is a totally different animal from when i first took it in! very happy with the results
