Default help with understanding piston selection

i bought a 4.6-5.0 stroker kit but considering the cost (2200) and the bad things i've been reading about them i've decided to send them back. I want to get a forged 4.6 kit but i don't understand the dish size or volume or whatever. more over what's the benefit of getting a STD, .020, or .030? I was looking at 18.1 cc dished pistons with a .030 bore over for a supercharged application and aftermarket heads and cams. Does this make sense or am I way off? Also want to add that the CR for this kit is 8.23:1 which i was told is good for SC'd apps. But i think the heads will lower the CR further and is this dangerous? Thanks guys, i'd rather ask MustangForums than people where i live...

now i'm getting responses from people telling me to keep the stroker kit (and its a 4.6 to 5.1 not 5.0). They're saying it works better on SC'd motors and provides an 8.2:1 CR with 21 cc dished pistons. I've read on a googled forum though that strokers are a waste of time and money and will only last 12,000-15,000 miles. If that's true, I don't want my engine to die...

You'll get better responses from the 4.6 section.
