Default How much nitrous

Car and mods in sig, except I probably wont be running my 20's and NT05's, 17's and MT ET streets are a good bet. Im wondering how big of a shot of nitrous do you think it will take to go bottom 12's. Im thinking a full 150shot on green, traction pending should get me there or possibly mid 12's. Car weighs approx 4000lbs, 3.58 gears, 5R55S trans shifting at 6500rpms. Any input is appreciated.

a 150 shot will more than likely end quickly with you either flooding the manifold and bending a couple of rods or some other concoction of bad things ending up with a bunch of broken thingamajigers in your engine. 150 is a BIG shot brother, you need forged internals to get into that territory. I would say you'll be fine on a 75 or 100 shot, and take what you can get because you will be lucky to break into the high 12s, but be happy with it! How many people running around in the streets have an LS that can beat out most lightly modded GT's?

also, just noticed you haven't had the car tuned, with that alone, your 14.3x pass can easily become a 14.0x pass

125 shots have been done already, not from a stand still tho, also these engines have taken some decent psi 5-7psi with rear mount turbos, and 9psi with an Eaton M90. Im thinking the stall and better tires alone should get me a 13.XX pass, tune, a little faster. I just checked another site(Lincoln forum) and a guy running a 100 shot went 13.396 @ 104.7, mufflers, tune, intake and the juice, also this wasnt off the line, 3rd gear hit I think.

You're gonna need major traction, and at least a 150 shot to get low 12's IMO. I'm not sure how well your cars holds up to that big of a shot though.

its going to take more then a 150 shot to drop 2 full seconds off your quarter. you might get into the high 12s but definitely not low 12s

i think so, just be sure to have a good set of tires, a good launch and spray off the line. id throw a 150 shot on it, make a few passes and go from there.

considering you pulled a 2.20 60 foot with those awesome nittos's (just so's i don't pi$$ off the nitto guys if i tell how i really feel )

anyways... with a mickey you should get 1.70's easily on motor, thats good for a second on the big end... so combined with a 100 shot, you should see mid to hi 12's all day long and look for a 1.6x 60 foot time or get better launching the car

150 will get low 12's for sure but i'm not too familiar with the need to flash the puter and what not on the newer cars

Yea I wasnt too impressed with the Nittos either, the NT05's seem to be a shyt tone better but whatever, Im picking up some 16's later today to mount some micky's on for track use.

A little background on the motor, 3.9L DOHC V8, 10.75:1CR, when dynoed it held a pretty consistent 12.4:1 AFR, runs on 93 out of the box, I have 102 readily available at the pump down the street if you think it will help give me a "safety cushion" so to speak.

Preciate the help so far guys, when the season starts Im going after a title/record so Ill be sure to mention MF if all goes well haha
