Vortech, what gears?
Looking for opinions on rear end gears. I have a 2001 GT automatic, 26" tall tire, that I am in the process of installing a non-intercooled Vortech supercharger with 8psi. I am currently running stock gears. I plan to run in a street bracket racing class and don't drive the car much so gas mileage isn't an issue. Just looking for opinions on what gear ratio would compliment the blower?
Thanks.
Thanks.

1/4 mile might want to opt for 3.55 or 3.73 since a 4.10 or shorter gear would kill mph unless you had a taller tire, if 1/8 mile only most definatly 4.10.
Since the AODE auto gear ratios suck you have to get a other than stock gear to do anything really, not sure the stock gear in an 01(5.0 cars with the auto had 2.73) i havent had a 4.6 car but i think some of them came with 3.27`s but i believe the tranny ratios are the same or very close!

I didnt tell him to do any certain one, did i twist his arm and say use this one or your sh*t will fail?
We all give suggestions on here right, who on here is the god of mechanics we all learn from one another, tire size will have an effect on the rollout, rpm etc!
Atleast i didnt say use a (4.88 gear and use a 29in tall tire so it`s like a 3.55) which is total BS!

OP, since you're not so concerned about gas mileage, and are interested in street bracket racing, the 4.10's are very ideal. Considering that you only plan to run 8psi. the 4.10's will be the perfect complement to the cars powerband for the 1/4 mile.
Do a search on this, and ask others as well, and you'll see that i am right.
