Supercharger losing boost at 2000 rpm! Help!!!!
posted this in the roush, saleen, boss section also hoping for some info please!!!
Ok I know its a F150 but this seems to be an issue with the roush supercharger not the truck. I was driving around just now and i get on it a little, nothing major, and i notice the exhaust is way louder than the supercharger whine. So I get on it again to see if it did it again and it did. I have boost up until about 2000 rpm then I can hear the supercharger winding down even though im still accelerating. Anyone know what could be causing this? I checked under the hood and nothing looks out of place but its dark so ill have to take a closer look tommorow morning. Ill also have to call Roush and see what they say. The truck has less than 10000 miles on it but just turned 3 years old as of the 6th this month
i feel sick since i was just about to sell the truck and get a 5.0

you have shown no proof that your even losing boost. nothing more than "i hear this and that and its not what im expecting."
do you have a boost guage? is it hooked up properly? is the line kinked? does the boost guage show solid boost or does it drop off?

no boost gauge so im just going by the fact that i can hear the whine until 2100 rpm, then it drops off and i can actually hear it winding back down. Also the fact that at that point the truck feels extremely slow. Like there is no s/c at all.
I did some reading last night and sounds like belt slip could be a cause. I checked for dust around the s/c snout and there was plenty, but i have had belt issues before so im not sure if its from then or now. So ill have to drive a little more today now that i wiped it down and see if theres more showing up

found out that since the truck had an aftermarket pulley made of aluminum and it was very thin metal, it was getting stuck on the s/c snout. It cracked under the stress and broke a few of the teeth off. Currently Chicane sport tuning is making me a custom pulley and getting a new belt. thankfully it broke while I was showing the owner the problem and i was able to coast back to his shop
