ADVICE ON O/R X OR H-PIPE???
I just got my LM1's on my 99 GT and they sound great, but i want em louder so i'm trying to decide between an off-road x or h-pipe. From what i've heard, the x-pipe would give it a higher pitchy tone, whereas the h-pipe would make it deeper. Is any of this true? Tell me what you think i should do and what brand of x or h-pipe i should go with. Also, do you think i should just scrap this idea and get some LT headers? let me know.. thanks
If your even thinking of LT headers get them first because your gonna need a shorter h/x midpipe to accomodate the longer tube length. If you want all out agression with slp lm1's then go with a high flow catted h-pipe or an o/r h-pipe....theyre all pretty similar just be sure theyre stainless steal
the X won't give it a "higher pitchy" tone. it won't be as deep or loud as an aftermarket H, but it will be louder and deeper than your stock H. the X will sound better than the H when you romp on the gas. the H will be loud and deep cruising. i'd be careful with the o/r with the LM1s. from what people here say that has that combo, it's loud and makes you happy in pants, but you'll get tired of it and want to change it out.
