ok im about to kill somebody here, i just finished putting on my intercooler and the car idles horribly and puffs out black smoke...Im using a diablosport revolutions chip, alot of people have had problems withthis chip, is this to blame? and this has happened to me before, when from onde day to the next it just acts really really bad. I don't think it has anything to do with the intercooler though.The car can be driven but it drives really ****ty and does'nt let me boost and does'nt to past 3k rpms, and when i get to 3k it sounds like a maching gun coming out of my exhaust.....please help!!

 

p.s.......a mechanic friend of mine says that it cold be that the cylinders are flooded with fuel...how can i remedy this????

 

Sounds like your chip sucks and you need a tune seriously.

 

I would get a new chip or go to the local shop and get a nice Dyno Tune or custom Chip! Hope your Baby gets better

ok so i checked all the plumbing and i had a small leak...so i fixed it and turned the car on and it idled ok....drove it around drove ok....so i waited for the blower to warm up (get that weird double whine sound away) and i tested it out to see how much boost i lost, i saw the most of about 5psi, sounds strange to me, but thats fine i have a blower pulley ready to install anyway....and then all of a sudden, the car turned off....and it was'nt starting back up when i turn the key it would get up to about 400 rpms yes, 400 not 4000 and just die, the only way to keep the car on was to start it with the gas depressed, so i did that all the way home about a mile ( i was in my pajamas with no cell phone and no wallet testing it out , stupid i know) when i got home, i tried again to start it and nothing..so i unplugged the MAF and turned it on, and bada bing it turns on and i drove it around just fine, i didnt test any boost but i guess it's enough to get to school and work, would putting my stock MAF work??? appearently my lightning meter took a crap...

 

Put it on a dyno and get a custom tune! The chips you get with S/C and Turbo kits don't take into account a number of other mods a car could have or could be set to an old reference that goes out the window when the car maker changes some of the programming of the ECU.

 

I have a dyno-tuned chip...i'm pretty sure the problem is the MAF, i'm going ot put my stock one back on because right now the car is running fine with the MAF disconnected....funny how i had the car idling with the MAF unplugged and when i plugged it in the car just shut off.......sounds to me like i need a new MAF

 

Dude, you need a tune, go take it to a dyno shop. Just because you have a tuned chip doesn't mean it is working for your new setup. My car was tuned (dyno tuned) and then I put my supercharger on.. i drove it about ten feet... TO THE TRAILER BED... now go get it tuned.
