I never even got to take it to the track. I got it finished in September & sold it early March. I'm wanting to do a single turbo for one with a different design when I get some more money.

Unless you can fab up parts and weld dont bother trying to make your own kit cause it wont happen and to buy a turbo kit your looking at 5 grand anyways.Building turbo kits isnt for guys that cant do major mods it can take a while to get it all setup and working right and you need some turbo knowledge to on how everything works.Modding cars is not easy thats why everyone doesnt have a fast car.For you you might just want to go with NOS or a charger and have it installed.Usually people who ask all the questions on turbos and stuff dont have what it takes to do it.And notice i said usually cause there is exceptions

You gotta start somewhere.
Mock-ups are where it's at. I still have my mockup from the single turbo Probe GT for a T3 T04. I have one for a T4/T04B H3 trim, but never got one of the turbos. I'm still waiting for one to pop up on ebay. [&o] I've seen a couple on there, but they all have a huge exhaust a/r, mostly 1.00 or 1.15. I need one .52 = .78. I'm hoping more for the larger one since I'm a big fan of a bigger than average sized turbo for cars (more high rpm powah! & it agrees with stock & aftermarket components better. Ie. cam(s))

from fox
"A turbo will be able to produce quite a bit more power on a stock engine. If your engine will break at 450hp then you are only going to be able to get about 380hp to the wheels with a supercharger, with a turbo it would be more around 420whp. That's 40 hp difference & the more the boost goes up the bigger the difference."

a turbo is going to make more power and torque at the same boost levels... a certain percentage is lost through the drive train to the wheels. if your motor will break at 450hp which is roughly 387whp its going to break regardless of the power adder used. a turbo will just get you to that break point with less boost because it uses exhaust flow and heat instead of a crank driven belt. ~40hp is the parasitic loss of a sc

It's not the whp that makes the engine give, it's the bhp. The supercharged car is producing the same amount of power to the engine, but some of that power is used to power the supercharger. The engine is seeing the same amount of stress from a supercharger at 12psi as it is with a turbo at 12psi.

this is off the wall but can you keep your cold air intake with a supercharger?

No, but you could build another for very cheap or buy one. (don't quote me on this, i'm 99% sure of it, not 100)

fox... i know you know what you're talking about, but you are not understanding me. the difference in whp and bhp is the power lost through the drive train. it has nothing to do with the power adder. the sc is robbing hp from the motor to spin it and it will give it a lower bhp than a turbo at the same psi. therefore, if your motor will break at 450 bhp or 387 whp a turbo may get you there at ~8psi and a sc may take ~11psi.
