School me on Nitrous oxide
Hey guys, today i purchased a Zex nitrous oxide system. Bought it from a guy that bought it new and never used it, i picked it up for $400.
Thing is i dont have a clue about nitrous. What do i need to change on my car to run it safely. Am thinking its a cheap upgrade for 100 HP. Its the ZEX system for a Fox with the 75,100 and 125 jets. Is this an install i can do myself? i am mechanically inclined and use tools everyday as apart of my job. just need some advice on how to go about this the right way. Car is an 88 306 that was built 25,000 kms ago, EFI, Cold air, edelbrock upper intake and heads, e-cam. thanks

Start by reading the sticky on nitrous in this forum. Also, search this forum for similar install questions and you will find plenty of info on similar set ups.
You can do the install yourself, it isn't very complicated. To be safe start with the smallest shot to be sure all is working right. You'll probably need to run one step colder plugs and gap the around .035, timing will need retarding a couple degrees - all depending on what shot you run. Be sure you're ignition system is good and solid as well as your fuel system. If the kit didn't come with a bottle heater you'll need one especially up north. A fuel pressure safety switch will add some cheap insurance against running lean. Again, there is a ton of info on the web so spend some time researching.
