Default Which Super charger?

Hi new member here.

I have a 2011 GT 5.0 Mustang Convertible, with only 22K miles on it.

I want to put a super charger on it to get it up to about 620 hp, though I am concerned that I do not go over the top and stress the car, so perhaps something a bit less than 620 if that is the case (575 hp?).

I live in Southern California so I am also looking for a shop that has experience with super chargers.

My initial thoughts are the Roush TVS 2300 or a Whipple.

I'd love to hear from those of you who have had experience with these things, especially from those who have done it?

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance!

dont worry about too much power, you will just wheel spin unless u mod the suspention and run drag radials anyhow. they make the gt500 in a vert and that has 750 hp you will be fine

http://www.kennebell.net/KBWebsite/S...ustang2011.htm here is a link to kenne bell's site as another option

Thank you for the reply!
What do you mean by "a vert and that has 750HP?"

Here is another question: What is the sound difference between the TVS 2300, the whipple, and the bell?

I ask this because it sounds like all 3 systems will kick ***, so it may come down to cost and what they make the car sound like. I have heard the Whipple has a fun but loud whine.

the whipple and KB are both twin screws, and will sound about the same, you are concerned about too much power in your con-vert-ible or vert for short, they make the gt500 in a convertible and that is supercharged and has 750hp or so. they hold up, and the body is basically the same. forget what u may hear from others on the net about bending a and flexing a convertable, but if you still are worried, you could always install some subframe connectors

Default Mods?

At this point I think I am going with the Whipple 2.9.

Will I need other mods to support it?

60lb injectors, etc?

all the supporting mods should come with the kit, if not, you may want to compare kits again, all the extras add up quick

I did a quick check on which blowers would be legal in California. I didn't come up with much, but you should definitely look into that.

Default The Place to go!

I think the Roush Supercharger is the only way to go! Here's the place to go! He's an authorized Roush Dealer in Fullerton CA & that can set you up with all the Roush & Ford combined guarantees! He's a really nice guy with tremendous experience with lots of rods & Mustangs. He has installed Roush Superchargers for me, & I recommend himhighly! Show him the picture of my car & he'll know who sent you & treat you extra well! (I don't use my name on the inteweb!)

Here is his Facebook address so you can get an idea of his business.

In my opinion I'd stick with the Phase 1 Setup! The reliablity & resale of a Roush setup will be much, much better because it is like a Ford GT 500 Factory supercharger setup rather than some adapted supercharger on the front of the engine! Don't save a few bucks & get something else. I loved mine & will likely put one on a 2016!

I'd suggest our Phase 1 kit, with you being in California a kit having EO is a biggie and you'll love the instant low end hit the TVS blower delivers over that of a twin screw.
