basicaly a device that forces air in to your engine. it is run off of the engines crank. (a very few are runn buy electric motors)

trubos are similar they force air into your engine but they run off of the exhaust gasses.

a supercharger and a blower are similar and some people use the term sc for both because they are both belt driven. the difference between a supercharger and a blower is that the air a blower charges or pressurizes occurs outside the unit, in the space between it and the intake valves. In effect, it blows air into the intake manifold where it becomes compressed due to the system's pushing more air in than can flow out.

a "blower" would give you more power from the get go. a "supercharger" acts like a turbo and you won't make boost until 3000rpm roughly.

it's easier to call all superchargers blowers. who likes typing out supercharger? most people know what you're talking about when yo usay blower.

wow that's the best explaination i've heard. so it literally blows air to compress it. and a turbo and centrifucal supercharger have a compressor wheel to compress it. thanks now i can sound smart to my friends you're awesome
