Hey guys
Since im only 16 my parents insist on knowing about, and overseeing EVERY upgrade put into my v6. So to make a good case for me getting nitrous im asking that you guys tell me the pros AND cons about it. thnx

 

PRO:Cheap and you can make good power with it
CON:Its only a "temporaly" power adder

PRO:With a good tune its very safe
CON:With a bad tune its not

PRO:There's lots of place's that offers NOS filling stations
CON:It can get costly refilling a 10lb bottle with frequent use

 

meh. you don't run out all that quick and the tune isn't life threatening to the engine. you can run a kit untuned and have no problems with it. just as long as you don't use a huge shot of it. code3gt on here ran a 125 shot just fine with occassional 150 shots without a nitrous tune just fine. the 175 killed him though. thats actually not compelely true. Nitrous Express and Zex actually recommends that you DO NOT Tune your car when using nitrous (unless your tuning it to retard your timing of course). of course they also only recommend using 75 shot. which is about what your car can handle with out running lean from the stock Fuel pump and injectors.

if your running above 75 shot then it is definitly recommended to change the fuel system.

OH YA and your goign to spending another 24bux or so on copper sparkpugs, gapped at like .35 (just alittle warning, about some of the extra's you will need)

 

You guys are a bunch of idiots....hows it not true that nitrous is safe on a good NITROUS tune....that's what i meant and not a N/A tune....jesus im not retarded

 

do your parents know alot about cars, if not, just get it and put it in without them knowing

 

not much in the line of facts...gonna be kinda hard to convince them of a mod that is strictly to "go faster"

although, you can mention the fact that would cost you a couple thousand rather than 500 to do the same thing.

a 75 shot is ABSOLUTELY safe on stock fuel system, stock plugs, stock everything.....i would gap at .040" and use an MSD as well.

 

My dad knows enough, he raced motorcross and formula 2. so hes KNOWS what im doing to it. i just need to make a good case for them. he thinks im going to hurt the engine no matter what. i tell him that technology is better now and nitrous can be used safely but he still wants to hear it from other people.
might not work but im telling them that im buying it more for show then use, ill have a purge

 

the germans were using nitrous on their planes in ww2.....if thats not long enuff testing i don't know what is.

 

the saleen focus comes stock with nitrous.
