so i just bought the upr catted x pipe. I install it with my roommate who is a mechanics apprentice. The first problem I had was that the bolts from the headers to the exhaust are all messed up and I was wondering what size they were. I have a 92 LX notchback 5.0. When I start up the car and let it run I notice that smoke is coming out from the exhaust headers connection. I want to replace those bolts and see if that helps. Also I noticed that smoke is coming from the cats as well. Is that normal for a newly installed exhaust or is something wrong. Also I removed the air tube from the emissions pump but have not plugged it up yet, could this be the problem?
and finally last question. I live in california and i was wondering if using a smog pump eliminator kit would be legal? any info helps. Thanks

 

well california is the most emissions controlled state, and buying a catted x then taking of the smog pump is a dumb idea,

 

yea but catted x will pass rite? i wont eliminate the smog pump but i will plug the air tube. i still nee to know about the smoke...

 

and also i need to replace the bolts that connect the x pipe to the headers. any1 know where i can find those? or atleast the technical name so i can go buy them.
