blower without a chip.... is that ok?
Hey guys!
This is an extension of my post in the tech forum,... my vortech'ed car won't start in the cold. (I've been naive and struggling with it for a year now,... not realizing how important a dyno tune is)... Vortech tech support told me to swap back the old injectors,... remove the chip and see if the problem goes away. I did it this weekend, and my GT start like new now. So my question...
Is it safe to drive the car with the s/c, intercooler, 255 fuel pump, OLD injectors, with NO chip??? (until I can get the car tuned...)
Thanks!

Here's the problem :-)... Nearest good/reliable tune shop is 3+ hours away....:-(. You think I should be ok if I keep it under 2k rpm?... Good thing the car can still do about 60 that way.

It was the diablo chip (actually all of the chips vortech sent me). The great guys at New England Dyno tuned the car and sent me a new chip... and it did the trick. Finally I have my car back!!!

i would def get a dyno tune. after you get your car running right from the chip that they sent you you should still get a dyno tune. not all cars are the same. plus since you got a s/c you want to get the most performance out of it right?

You're absolutely right. After the guys at NEDyno tuned the car... the car has been running amazingly. We did a pull with the vortech chip for fun, and not only as the chip bad (when cold)... but the burn was making the car run EXTREMELY rich. The car is perfect now. So.. yes... tuning is the key.... once you have a working chip :-).

well, since no 2 cars react the same way with a blower, it's better to guess how to get them to run too rich than lean.
