Important tire question -- Urgent! Buying tires this week
So here's my dilemma...
I have selected KUMHO ECSTA MX for the front tire. 275-40-18
I need to select my rear tires now... I'm deciding between 295-30-18 versions of...
The same KUMHO ECSTA MX
-or-
BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDW2
Now, straight line traction is what I'm looking for... But I don't want to sacrifice treadwear to the point that I get less than 20k per set realistically...
Opinions? Other tires I should look into?
Otherwise, will these sizes keep (close to) the same OD as the stock tires? I think so, according to my bad math, but am unsure.

I can tell ya this much. I just put a set of KDW2's all the way around a week and a half ago and in Bowling Green Ky., I cut a 1.68 60 ft time at 28 psi. That was the first time I had been under a 2 second 60 ft, even with my suspension mods. These tires hook like velcro. I was getting better 60ft's than people with D/R's.

Otherwise, I know they hook really well but I just don't want to be buying tires every 6 months... I'm about to go off to college and be broke =-p

They are great all the way around. Good treadwear rating, great cornering and the AA traction rating. I am extremely happy. Check out the customer reviews on tirerack.com.
All the way around = wasted maney? Not to me. They are great handling tires and not overly expensive IMO. They were
$145 each for my 18's, and I can rotate because they are all the same size. A few burnouts, rotate, good to go.

I have the BFG's
Great tires, but I have too much HP for the track with them. I smoked first and second everytime I tried to run with them. Only drag radials seem to hook for me. And I have the same basic suspension you do.
