Default Tires... 235/55/17???

Will they fit on a stock 17" Pony wheel? And two, wil a 17x8 running 235/35/17 work? I neeed to get my summer/winter tires figured out. I'l ike the ' 05 SVT Black wheels with the stock Pirelli's for now. And then put winter 235/55/17 tires on my stock wheels.

Opinions PLEASE???

P235/55-17 come stock on the GT's and Pony Package (both wheels are exactly the same, except for the center cap). If the stock 17" wheels are 8" wide, then you will be fine. If the stock wheels are only 7" wide, then I think a 235 wide tire will be too narrow for a larger (8") wheel.

How about with me... I'm using the stock alloy 17" (not bullits) with Nitto 555s 255/45-17? [&:]

When my P-Zero's are worn out, that's the size tire I would like to get on my Bullits. Do you like the Nittos?

EDIT: I saw in your other post that the Nittos are yet to be mounted. Keep us posted.

OK, I think I am going to go with the Mich X-Ice for the winter and have them put on the stock wheels. Then when the spring comes along (Which is about May here in Colorado), I'd like to order the black SVT wheels and put the Pirelli's on those.

My question is... What is the best way to store tires for about 5 months?

The problem with the 235/35-17 is that the aspect ratio (sidewall height) is only 3-1/4" which means the total tire height will be about 23-1/2" compared to the stock 27" that you get with 235/55-17's. IMO - the wheel well gap will make you very unhappy!

+1 I have 17x7 with 235/45 17 and I will be going to a 235/55 or 235/60 17 because the wheel gap is atrocious at the stock heigth. I can't even image with a 235/35 R17. Not to mention you will feel EVERY bump on and pebble on the road with that thin of a sidewall.

MY BAD!!!!! I did not catch in your original post that you were talking about a tire with an aspect raio of 35. I thought it said 55. I apologize. Your topic post said 55, so that what I was talking about.

i used to run a 35 series tire on one of my cars, and it was rough on me, the car, the suspension, and the rims...

I do intend on getting 235/55/17. The 235/35/17 was a typo.

Now about my storage question? Any suggestions? Here are the rims I want for next Spring. The bolt pattern is 5-114, with an offset of +45mm. Any problems there? Will I need centering rings or do those match our stock wheels? Thank you all for the info!
