Default RE: Nitrogen ??

its bs. the only difference you get with nitrogen over normal air from a compressor is that nitrogen holds pressure better through temperature changes(like spring to summer, summer to fall, etc). its totally up to you

Ok.. you just said it's bs, then you pointed out it's advantage over regular air.

Default RE: Nitrogen ??

Nitrogen SHOULD not promote the introduction of moisture into the wheel/tire, and regular compressed air contains the moisture from the air around you which is then pumped into the tire/wheel assembly. Ever wonder why your expensive wheels are all pitted and crumbling inside if it's been several years since the tires were mounted? [he says remembering back to the BMW 750il we had with chromed alloy's. And when the tires were changed and the chrome started peeling off from around the bead and the stupid tires were leaking and going flat if it sat for any length of time - on a $80+K four year old car...]

Is it true that inflating the tires with nitrogen will do the things they claim?

I don't know, but it sounds like good logic and it probably can't hurt...
