Default Sway Bar/Control Arm

Hey, I have another newb question. You keep talking about sway bars and control arms and it seems like everyone has added them. Can you explain what these things actually do? Thanks.

Default RE: Swar Bar/Control Arm

Sway bars reduce body roll during cornering. Unless you have a 2006 Pony Package the V6 Mustang does not come with a rear sway bar stock. The benefit of a rear sway bar is huge because our V6's (without Pony Package) only have a front sway bar which is a built in understeer. The addition of a rear sway bar helps maintain a larger contact patch during cornering so that you can accelerate faster into a turn without sliding and braking.

A major area of weakness on the late model Mustangs (Fox , SN95 and S197 platforms) are the factory upper and lower control arms. The thin stamped steel arms offer little in the way of lateral stability, and combined with the large rubber bushings, the arms undergo considerable flexing. Under hard acceleration the stock arms and bushings sucuumb to wheelspin and wheel hop.
